15 houses gutted in fire in Kishtwar; 23 families affected

Srinagar, Oct 28 : As many as 15 houses were gutted in a massive blaze that erupted on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday in Kishtwar district of Jammu region, officials said here. 
Officials told Kashmir Pen that army and police personnel along with the locals launched an operation to douse the fire. “By the time the blaze was extinguished, 15 residential structures were gutted and 23 families have been affected.
 Deputy Commissioner Kishtiwar Devansh Yadav said relief material for the affected people was being sent. 
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir’s Peoples Democratic Party took to Twitter and wrote, “Pained to hear that 20 residential houses have been gutted in an inferno at Padder, Kishtwar. Rising cases of fires across J&K have been a constant source of concern. Since winter is on the anvil,urge admin to rehabilitate & compensate the victims expeditiously.”
“Very heartwrenching news from Gandhari (paddar) Kishtwar today where fire clutches almost 20 households, requesting the administration led by LG manoj sinha to provide immediate relief & conpensation to the families,” said Dr.Jahanzaib Sirwal, Spokesperson J&K Congress.
