The eminent Prof (Dr) Mufti Mudasir from the Department of English presided over the gathering, sharing the stage with renowned Kashmiri novelist and critic, Dr. Sohan Kaul, and the illustrious Dr. Ayash Arif, a leading actor of the Valley.
A session of short stories, each distinct in language and essence, captured the imagination of the audience. Gulal Kashmiri unveiled his Kashmiri creation, ‘Maji Ne Pootch Te Sitarus Gilaf’. Shaista Bukhari charmed listeners with her Urdu tale, ‘Aisha Ki Shadi’, while Tousif Raza brought forth the evocative English story, ‘The Tale of Her Memories’. A spirited dialogue centered on these narratives added depth to the session, further enriched by Dr. Sohan Kaul’s readings from his Kashmiri novel, ‘Talas Rozi Jari’.
Dr. Mufti Mudasir, addressing the gathering , emphasized the artistry of storytelling, shedding light on the nuances of creative writing. He lauded the Guild’s efforts, acknowledging its pivotal role in elevating regional literature while fostering a conducive environment for constructive criticism and acclaim.
President FWG Dr. Nazir Mushtaq besides General Secretary Engineer Shafi Ahmad, and luminaries like Dr. Neelofar Nehvi, Mrs. Rehana Shajar, Mr. Syed, Mr. Showkat Shafi, Mr. Shakeel-ur-Rehman, Mr. Yousuf Shaheen, Mr. Suhail Salim, Mr. Mohi-ud-Din Reshi, and several others, amplified the session with their presence.
