Over 6 persons were injured after an explosive substance went off accidentally in Ahgam village of North Kashmir’s Handwara district.
Ahgam is 5 kilometers away from the Chanjmohalla forest area that witnessed a bloody encounter on Saturday evening.
Five security personnel including a policeman and a Colonal were killed in the encounter. Two militants also died in the said gunfight.
Eyewitnesses told that a shell lying on the road went off suddenly, resulting in the injuries of 6 persons.
Confirming the incident, a medico at Sub District Hospital said that two persons have sustained leg injuries and they were shifted to Srinagar hospital while 4 others are being treated in the local hospital. A police official said that they are ascertaining the facts. (KNT)
