9 booked in Srinagar, four vehicles seized in Sopore for defying lockdown orders

Police on Saturday booked nineteen people in Srinagar for defying the prevailing restrictions for preventing COVID-19 spread and seized four vehicles in north Kashmir.

A police statement issued to stated that thirteen people were arrested within the jurisdiction of Police Station Sadder and six in that of Police Station Rajbagh.

“Cases under relevant laws have been registered at both the police stations”, it added.

In Sopore, north Kashmir, the police seized four vehicles for defying restriction orders issued under section 144 CrPC in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Police have requested the general public to follow the restrictions imposed by the government in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and warned that violations will be dealt with strictly.
