Accidental fire creates panic in PCR Srinagar

Panic gripped for a moment inside police control room after the atmosphere reverberated with a gunshot this afternoon.

Policemen rushed to the spot to ascertain the facts and later came to know that it was an accidental fire.

Sources told that the service rifle of a policeman present in IRP barrack went off accidentally that created panic. The bullet didn’t touch anyone.

The policeman in question is affiliated with 6th Battalion Indian Reserve Police. When contacted, a police official feigned ignorance about the incident. ( KNT )
