Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister, addressed recent criticism surrounding the Chief Minister’s stance on the Indus Water Treaty, urging those opposing the statement to recall their own past actions. Wani noted that opposition members had previously introduced a resolution in the legislative assembly seeking to terminate the agreement.

“Those who now stand against the Chief Minister’s statement on the Indus Water Treaty were the same who once brought a resolution in the assembly to break this very agreement,” Wani stated, underscoring what he sees as inconsistency in the opposition’s position.

The Indus Water Treaty has long been a contentious issue, with various parties debating its impact on Jammu and Kashmir’s water rights and resources. Wani’s remarks bring renewed attention to the matter, sparking further discussion on the future of the treaty.
