After Dawoodi, Veeri, authorities arrest Sarjan Barkati

Srinagar, September 17 : Authorities today arrested Sarjan Barkati, a popular religious preacher in Shopian district.
His arrest comes two days  after noted religious clerics, Moulana Abdul Rasheed Dawoodi and Mushtaq Ahmad Veeri were booked under PSA and lodged in Jammu Jail.
Reports said he was arrested early morning from his home in Rebban Shopian.
Barkati was released in October 2020 after four years of detention when he was arrested during the uprising following the killing of Hizb commander Burhan Wani in 2016.
