A 65-year-old man from north Kashmir Bandipora district has developed an automatic ventilator that requires no attendant alongside the patient to keep pumping like the existing ones. Muhammad Ismail Mir, a resident of Bandipora who earlier developed automatic disinfectant spray that earned him appreciation from Harvard medical school has now successfully managed to prepare an automatic ventilator ready to be used in hospitals amid Covid-19 pandemic Talking to news agency, Ismail said that the ventilator prepared by him needs no attendant and it will help the patient undergo treatment without requiring the help from a health worker or anyone to keep pumping the air device to sustain.

He said that he is trying my bit to help the society with everything that’s possible to fight this pandemic. “Earlier I developed an automatic disinfectant device that can be installed at large gathering spots which will ensure no infection is carried beyond since that sprays the disinfectant chemicals automatically.”

“This automatic ventilator is easy to use, functions on very low voltage of power, requires no person to keep it operational and consumes very little space and is light weight,” he said. He said the ventilator will be highly helpful in this pandemic, “like God forbid if there is any patient who is put on ventilator and as per protocol no one should go near the positive patient but the existing ventilators in hospitals require an extra person to keep pushing it (air equipment) to ensure the patient goes with the treatment.

” He said that, however, this ventilator needs no health worker or attendant as it functions automatically and it will also ensure that no non-Covid person comes in close contact. He also informed that some medical team is also visiting him who will check this model and they have already appreciated when he told them about the whole process. Pertinently, Ismail in past has developed number of electronic models that earned him huge appreciation and recognition from the experts. (KNO)
