Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari on Friday has strongly criticized Power Development Department (PDD) for unfair increase in electricity bills across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post on X, Altaf Bukhari wrote, “The Power Development Department is unfairly punishing poor residents of J&K by raising electricity bills monthly from Rs 500 to Rs 1050 in some areas and Rs 900 to 1600 or even Rs 2100 in other areas just to cover their inefficiencies in recovering transmission losses.

“People in rural as well as in urban areas are suffering by high electricity charges. The LG administration may take note that poor people are not targeted for administrative failures. This harassment to poor people of J&K must stop immediately!”, he said.
