Citara is set to revolutionize cinema culture in Kashmir with the launch of its operations across four screens in South and North Kashmir. The regions of Shopian, Pulwama, Handwara, and Baramulla will soon experience the thrill of ‘First Day First Show,’ Kids Film Festivals, and the much-anticipated ‘Golden Era’ Film Festival, starting February 2025.

The company plans to further expand its reach later this year to Udhampur, Kishtwar, Doda, Bhaderwah, Pahalgam, and Anantnag, bringing cinematic entertainment closer to more communities.
Pradeep Sharma, Founder of Citara, highlighted the inspiration behind the initiative, stating, “The vision of bringing cinema to Kashmir has taken shape under the guidance of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and Honorable Lt. Governor Shri Manoj Sinha ji. Citara is committed to delivering the joy of ‘First Day First Show’ to these new locations and beyond, including Pahalgam, Anantnag, Kishtwar, and Bhaderwah in the near future.”
Renowned film writer and director Rumi Jafry shared his enthusiasm for the project, remarking, “Kashmir has always been the dream of every storyteller and filmmaker. Citara’s initiative will bring the magic of the big screen to the Valley, reawakening its cinematic charm.”
