COVID-19: JK Police committed to help needy Providing ration and essential services to the local as well as non-local people

The Jammu and Kashmir Police is committed to help one and all during the crises of Pandemic Corona Virus besides, ensuring complete lockdown and social distancing across Jammu and Kashmir to contain the spread of COVID-19.

In north Kashmir Range, J&K Police is fighting against the virus on the forefront like their colleagues in the other parts of the Union Territory. Besides making tight security in implementing the government orders issued from time to time, JK Police is providing essential services 24×7 to the needy.

In Baramulla district 1700 Kgs of rice, 385 Kgs of flour, 165 ltrs Mustard Oil, 500 Kgs of vegetables, 85 Kgs of Spices, 350 Masks and medicines & also provided cash of rupees 12000 to the needy local people besides provided shelter to the non-local people of the area at ITI Pattan and Govt Higher Secondary School Kunzer.

Sopore Police provided 13000 Kgs of rice & 4500 Kgs of flour. It also distributed 900 masks and 350 bottles of sanitizers to the local people. Sopore Police provided 3000 Kgs of rice and 2400 Kgs of flour to the non-local people besides provided shelter to them at different places.

Bandipora Police distributed 3000 Kgs of rice and other essentials like Pulses, flour, Sugar etc. among the local people besides 50 Kgs of Mustard Oil, 100 packets each of turmeric and chilli powder,50 Kgs of salt, Namkeen tea 15 Kgs and Lipton tea 60 packets and 200 packets of biscuits were also distributed. 50 numbers of bathing soap was also provided to the local people. Bandipora Police assisted local people with cash, transport to the pregnant ladies and other patients besides home delivery of medicines to the needy persons. Banidpora Police provided 1000 Kgs of rice and 100 Kgs of atta and pulses to the non-local residents of the area. They were also given 30 Kgs of edible oil, 70 packets of each turmeric and chilli powder, 25 kgs of salt, lipton tea 60 packets, 400 biscuit packets. Nearly 60 migrant labourers have been accommodated in govt buildings with all facilities and cash has also been distributed among the needy non-local people.

In Handwara district Police provided 1700 Kgs of rice, 170 Kgs of pulses and flour, 113 Kgs of spices, 110 Kgs of sugar, 40 Kg salt and 200 liters of Mustard oil to the local people of the district besides 500 Kgs of rice, 134 Kgs of pulses and flour, 121 Kgs of sugar, 15 Kg of salt, 21 Kgs of spices, 10 Kg of tea and 60 liters of mustard oil have been provided to the non-local residents of the area. Handwara Police assisted in distributing cooking gas and ration through CAPD village wise. Police accommodated 434 migrant labourers. They also distributed hundreds of masks and sanitizers among the local and non-local people in their area.

Kupwara Police distributed 2900 Kgs of rice, 1227 Kgs of flour & pulses, 369 liters of mustard oil, 300 kgs of spices, 372 kgs of salt and 25 kgs of sugar, namkeen tea 121 kgs, 76 kg lipton tea packets, 50 kg of milk, 600 packets of biscuits among the local people and also distributed 150 masks and 665 number of soaps. Kupwara Police also distributed ration to the non-local residents which include 2750 kgs of rice and 95 Kgs of flour, tea 45 kg, Mustard oil 85 kg, 135 kg pulses, 40 kg spices, 30 kg sugar, 70 kg salt besides 40 kgs of onions and potatoes.

In north Kashmir Range during the lockdown period 226 FIRs have been lodged and 249 shops/vehicles have been seized for violating government orders. In Baramulla 61 FIRs were registers for defying government orders besides 61 shops/vehicles have been seized. In Kupwara 16 FIRs were registered and 39 shops/vehicles have been seized for violating orders. Similarly, in Handwara Police registered 94 FIRs for violating government orders and seized 104 shops and vehicles during the lockdown period so far. In Bandipora 35 FIRs have been lodged against the violators and 43 shops/vehicles have been seized and in Sopore 20 FIRs have been registered against the people for defying government orders.
