Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav today chaired a comprehensive meeting to evaluate the performance of the Rural Development Department and formulation of MGNREGA Annual Plan for FY 2024-25.
The session focused on a detailed assessment of initiatives undertaken during the Financial Year 2023-24 including construction of pacca paths, Community kitchens, playgrounds, irrigation kuhls, Contour/wiremash bunding, Panchayat Bhawans , Plantation etc under MGNREGA.The meeting placed a special emphasis on the convergence of MGNREGA with other schemes of Horticulture, Social forestry, for plantation on kahcharai land in vulnerable areas of District especially in block Nagseni. Deputy Commissioner Dr Yadav asked to include proposals for check dams in the Chatroo area, as well as action to be taken for the sustainability/utility of soakage pits in MGNREGA plan FY 2024-25.Furthermore, the meeting highlighted the collaboration between the Revenue and Horticulture departments, supervised by ACR, to identify 5 kanal of Kahcharai land in each block for model plantation sites , focusing on Kiwi, plum, apple, apricot, among other crops to be provided by Horticulture Department.
