People from Downipawa, Anantnag on Saturday staged the protest against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department for failing to provide them drinking water.

They told that they are facing problems due to immense shortage of drinking water and they added that couple of times they have approached the concerned authorities but nothing was done on ground level.
Scores of women protestors from Downipawa assembled on road they blocked the Achabal Anantnag road leading to a long and messy traffic jam on the road. The protestors also shouted slogans against PHE Department demanding that scheduled drinking water supply should be provided to the residents of the area.
