The book, published by Beyond Black in collaboration with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), UK, was unveiled on February 6 at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal. It celebrates the achievements of 75 distinguished Indian women who have made significant contributions to chemistry and related fields.

Director of NIT Srinagar, Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, and Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman congratulated Dr. Jalid on her remarkable achievement. Prof. Kanaujia highlighted that her recognition not only showcases her individual success but also serves as an inspiration to aspiring women scientists across India. Prof. Rehman echoed these sentiments, encouraging her to continue inspiring young minds in science and research.

Dr. Jalid’s inclusion in She Is – 75 Women in Chemistry acknowledges her impactful research and dedication to chemical engineering. An alumna of NIT Srinagar, she graduated as the valedictorian with a gold medal in 2015. She went on to earn her Ph.D. from IIT Delhi, specializing in computational catalysis and microkinetic modeling. Her research has been published in high-impact journals, and she received the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award in 2018.

Her research interests include computational catalysis, microkinetic modeling, and the design of bimetallic alloy catalysts, contributing to advancements in sustainable chemical processes.

This recognition not only honors her contributions but also highlights her role as a trailblazer for women in STEM fields.
