Encounter starts in Beighpora Awantipora, Top Hizb Commander likely Trapped

A gunfight broke out between Government forces and militants in Beighpora Awantipora area of South kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday morning.

An official told news agency, that police launched search operation on Tuesday evening after getting inputs about the presence of militants in the area. “A joint team of 55 RR, CRPF and Awantipora Police launched cordon and search operation in the area , ” he said.

He said a top hizb commander is believed to be trapped and operation was under way when this report was filled. (KNO)
