The 306th session of the Fiction Writers’ Guild (FWG) was a remarkable event, held in the jam-packed city office of FWG at Abigizar, Lalchowk. The session was graced by acclaimed author, critic, poet, and Convener of the Kashmiri Sahitya Academy, Prof. Shad Ramzan, who presided over the event. Dr. Masooda Jabeen added further grace to the occasion as the guest of honor.
The session proved highly beneficial for story lovers as two young writers, both Yuva Puraskar awardees, presented their short stories in their mother tongue, Kashmiri. Senior writer Deepak Kanval also contributed by presenting his story in Urdu.
Razi Tahir presented his story *Zinda Laash* in Kashmiri, which centered around the plight of senior citizens. Senior writer Deepak Kanval’s Urdu story titled *Ehsas* touched on the challenges of nuclear families post-migration. Another Kashmiri story, titled *Sultan* and presented by Deeba Nazir, won accolades for its storyline, lyrical prose, and masterful treatment.
In his presidential address, Prof. Shad Ramzan encouraged the writers to focus on themes of contemporary importance and to approach them in a manner that elevates their work to a world-class standard, ensuring their relevance for years to come. Similar sentiments were echoed by the esteemed guest, Dr. Masooda Jabeen.

M. Bhat, Akhtar Mehraj, Mudasir, Zameer Ahmed, Yousuf Shaheen, Jahangir Bhat, Zubair Qureshi, Suhail Salim, Saqib Ahmad, Manzoor Kanth, Niyaz Ahmed Bhat, Salim Salik, Ahmad Bhat, Jalal Ahmad, and Roufufa Jan.
Session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Nasir Zameer, the General Secretary of the guild. The session was moderated by Ms Rehana Shajar .
