On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Choudhary Mohamamd Yasin, the Tehsildar, Shopian, Bilal Ahmad today visited Chotipora village of the district to access the loss to property and orchards caused due to cloudburst, yesterday.

Two sisters were killed due to flash floods, triggered by heavy rains and cloudburst in Chotipora area of Shopian yesterday and stressed for following laid down SOP of COVID-19 during survey including maintaining social distancing norms and wearing face masks.property including orchards were damaged by cloudburst in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner, Shopian ,sanctioned relief of Rs.4.00 lakh each among the legal heirs of the deceased persons.
He directed the concerned to assess the loss of property and orchards which were damaged by the cloudburst and submit report to the district administration within 10 days.
