Two faculty members of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) would interact with final year students of BA/BSc here on Jan 20 to create awareness about courses offered by the Pune-based institute and Satyajeet Ray FTII, Kolkata.
An official statement said the FTII in collaboration with directorate of information and public relation (DIPR) would conduct one day awareness camp at DIPR auditorium at Polo View Srinagar.
“The students pursuing graduation or who have completed graduation recently can attend that awareness program as most of the courses offered by these institutions require a minimum qualification of graduation in any discipline,” said the statement. However, it said, the three year diploma course being offered in sound engineering requires a qualification of 10+2 with physics.
The statement said the two faculty members Pankaj Saxena, visiting professor and consultant Lalit Tiwari, a faculty member will be interacting with students in the awareness camp that will start at 11:30 am.
The chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has already announced the government will sponsor the deserving candidates who make it to FTII Pune/Satyajeet Ray FTTI.
Last year 4000 students across the country appeared in the written test for 160 seats in eight disciplines. The summer capital is one of the examination centers for written test this year, said the statement, adding last date for submission of application was 25 January 2018. A similar awareness camp was organized by Press Club Jammu on Tuesday in which more than 200 students participated.
