Vice Chairman JK Cements Nazir Ahmad Yatoo called on Governor NN Vohra at the Raj Bhavan.
According to an official spokesperson, Yatoo briefed the governor about the initiatives taken for making J&K Cements a profitable enterprise and highlighted the need to get budgetary support, exemption from civil accounting and requirement of Rs 36.2 crore for meeting the liability of paying the salaries of migrant employees.
He informed that air pollution prevailing in the Khrew area has been reduced by almost 90 percent and that the very long pending annual general meeting of the J&K Cements has been conducted recently.
The governor advised Yatoo to ensure that the accounts of the company are audited every year and, as per mandatory provision, AGM is held every year within the prescribed timelines.
Governor observed that the Company must also take the required steps to enhance its productivity to meet the growing cement requirements of J&K while maintaining quality of its products and also fulfill its social responsibility mandate in a fully transparent and accountable manner.
