Srinagar, on January 4 , A prestigious religious and literary seminar was held at Tagore Hall, Srinagar, organized by Mahasagar Shiksha Samiti Prayagraj in collaboration with the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Memorial Committee, Lucknow, and Inder Cultural Forum, Sumbal Sonawari. The event brought together distinguished scholars, literary figures, filmmakers, and journalists to honor notable contributions in various fields.

Welcome Address and Opening Remarks
Renowned journalist and convenor of the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Memorial Committee (J&K), Imdad Saqi, extended a warm welcome to the participants, emphasizing the seminar’s goal of honoring individuals who have dedicated their lives to the betterment of humanity. He highlighted the event’s mission to foster unity, tolerance, and respect for all faiths.
“I see this seminar as a platform to honor those who have selflessly contributed to society and to revive the values of unity and mutual respect,” Saqi stated.
The event commenced with a soulful recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat Sharif, creating a spiritual ambiance. Hosted by noted actor Gulfam Barji, the seminar featured thought-provoking discussions and scholarly presentations. Chief organizer Syed Shafqat Abbas Abidi elaborated on the seminar’s objectives and credited Secretary Iftikhar Alam Khan for his efforts in making the event a success.

The seminar paid homage to several esteemed religious figures who have made invaluable contributions to Kashmiri society, including:

Renowned scholars such as Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Thokar, M.S. Rehman Shams, Fahad Fida, and Agha Samiullah Jalali presented research papers highlighting the lasting impact of these luminaries. Journalist Bilal Furqani delivered an insightful paper on the future of Urdu journalism, exploring the challenges and opportunities for its growth in the modern era.

A key highlight of the seminar was the felicitation of individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions in social, educational, and religious spheres. Recognized institutions included:

    A captivating Mushaira (poetry session) was a major attraction, where acclaimed poets such as Dr. Rashid Maqbool, Syed Asadullah Safvi, Zeeshan Jaiouri, and Muntaha Bashir enthralled the audience with their literary compositions, adding a touch of elegance and emotional depth to the event.

    Concluding Remarks and Future Plans
    In his concluding address, Salim Yusuf, head of the Inder Cultural Forum, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, calling the event a resounding success. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering unity and recognizing the selfless contributions of religious and literary figures.
    Saqi announced plans for the next three sessions of the seminar, to be held in Kargil , Jammu and Srinagar with dates to be announced soon.
    The seminar served as a fitting tribute to Kashmir’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage, celebrating its stalwarts and inspiring future generations to uphold values of harmony, respect, and intellectual pursuit.
