Srinagar, Kashmir – June 22, 2024:* In a heartfelt celebration of the 76th birth anniversary of Santoor legend and music composer, Padmashri Pt. Bhajan Sopori, the Harmony Cultural Foundation, in association with the artists fraternity of J&K, proudly presents “Khiraj-e-Aqeedat.” This tribute concert commenced with a mesmerizing Sufiyana Santoor performance by

Manzoor Ul Haq. Notable orators including Rafiq Masoodi, former ADG Doordarshan and former cultural secretary of J&K Academy; Satish Vimal, writer, poet, and broadcaster at AIR Srinagar; Mushtaq Bala, Filmmaker ; and artist Veer Munshi shared their insights and memories of Pt. Bhajan Sopori. Their words offered a profound reflection on the maestro’s contributions to music and culture.
The tribute featured Vocal Performances by Esteemed Artists with the soul-stirring performances by a stellar lineup of artists. These include Gulzar Ganie, Shanti Lal Sidh, Malik Shafi, Munir Ahmed Mir, Raja Bilal, Saurabh Zadoo, and Ishrat Hussain Shah. Their renditions will payed homage to Pt. Bhajan Sopori’s legacy, capturing the essence of his musical journey.
The performance was further enriched by the accompaniment of celebrated musicians including Imtiyaz Malik on Tabla, Gohwhar Yaseen on Sarang, Abdul Rashid Shah on Rabab, and Irshad Shaad on Matka. The event was compered by Anika Rashid Farash, whose engaging presence ensured a seamless and captivating flow throughout the evening.
