The weather department has forecast light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places across Jammu and Kashmir on August 11-12, with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at a few districts of the Jammu division. Brief spells of intense showers are also expected at a few places in the Kashmir division during the forenoon and afternoon hours.

From August 17-19, several spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected, with heavy rain and brief intense heavy showers likely at a few districts, particularly during the early morning and afternoon hours.

The weather is expected to remain comparatively subdued between August 20 and 22, with the possibility of light rain or thundershowers at scattered places.

The Meteorological Centre has issued an advisory warning of heavy rain and brief intense heavy showers during August 11-12 and 17-19, with heavy to very heavy rainfall possible at one or two districts of the Jammu division.

The department cautioned that torrential rain and brief intense heavy showers may trigger flash floods, landslides and mudslides, urging people to remain cautious, particularly in vulnerable areas.
