The spirit of the 11th Anniversary of the September 18th HWPL World Peace Summit, which was successfully held in Cheongju, South Korea, is expanding globally. A series of follow-up events, held recently in Cameroon and Rwanda, Africa, have advocated for the values of peace and urged concrete action, further spreading a solidarity that transcends borders and race.

The HWPL Peace Summit (hosted by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) is an international platform where world leaders gather to urge practical approaches for conflict resolution through international law based on the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) and discuss tangible solutions for ending war.

On October 16, a peace conference on the theme of ‘The Role of Youth in Peacebuilding’ was held at the East Africa University Rwanda (EAUR) campus. Around 200 attendees, including university officials, students, and VIPs, participated. This event marked the second collaborative project following the peace education conference held in June, demonstrating continuous achievements in peace activities.

Crucially, the conference adopted a participatory format, with young people actively contemplating and presenting their roles in peacebuilding. This approach transcended simple knowledge transfer, creating a platform to strengthen practical commitments to peace. As a result of this event, East Africa University is expected to become a key hub for regional peace activities..

Furthermore, on September 27, the HWPL 11th Anniversary of the Peace Summit event was held at the ‘Solomon Tandeng Muna Foundation’ in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon. Citizens gathered to watch a documentary film on HWPL’s peace activities in Cameroon and the necessity of peace, confronting local peace-related issues. They found common ground and explored solutions for peace-building through a dialogue with the film director. The event presented a successful model for raising citizens’ peace consciousness through cultural communication and fostering community harmony.

Mr. Tamitan Bertrand, a freelance documentary filmmaker, shared his thoughts:
“I created this peace documentary with the hearts of countless people who truly long for peace. I hope that many will come to recognize the values of HWPL and join hands to achieve peace in Cameroon.”
Professor Callixte Kabera, the Vice Chancellor of East Africa University, who attended the conference, stated, “To continuously establish peace, we must strengthen peace education and devise specific practical measures.”

Following the success of events in Cameroon and Rwanda, HWPL plans to continue advancing customized peace projects tailored to local situations worldwide. Specifically, it will expand peace education to empower youth, the protagonists of the future generation, as agents of peace, and work with civil society to ‘normalize a culture of peace.’
