Srinagar, November 19: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said Jammu and Kashmir has endured more than three decades of bloodshed and stressed that such violence must come to an end.
Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister said the Union Government had claimed that the situation would improve after 2019, but that assurance has not translated into reality. “Why hasn’t it happened? Those responsible for security should answer that. We do not control security,” he said.
Reflecting on the recent incidents, Omar Abdullah noted, “If it doesn’t explode in Delhi, it explodes in Kashmir. I met the families of five victims yesterday, and today I am visiting two more families. We want this bloodshed to stop. Jammu and Kashmir—especially the Valley—has suffered far too long.”
He also reviewed progress under Mission YUVA, revealing that while 30,000 DPRs have been approved, banks have sanctioned only 9,000 cases. “We are working to bridge this gap so that more cases are sanctioned at a faster pace,” he added | Kashmir Pen
