A police spokesperson said that despite cloudy weather and intermittent rainfall across several sectors, MRT personnel remained deployed at key locations including Zojibal, Barimarg, Y Junction, Dumail, Sangam Top, Rail Pathri and along the Baltal track.

“Teams maintained constant vigilance and assisted pilgrims wherever required,” the spokesperson said.

He said MRT J&K Police teams extended assistance to several needy pilgrims, particularly at slippery stretches near Kali Mata and Rail Pathri, ensuring their safe movement.

“In one notable rescue, an elderly female yatri who experienced difficulty in walking was safely evacuated by the MRT J&K Police Dumail team, in coordination with MRT CRPF and NDRF personnel, using a stretcher and transported to a safer location for further care,” he added.

“J&K Police MRTs remain committed to ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of every pilgrim through round-the-clock deployment of its Mountain Rescue Teams, working in close coordination with CRPF, NDRF, SDRF, SSB, and other stakeholders throughout the pilgrimage,” the statement further reads.
