Shri Saurabh Bhagat (IAS), Commissioner / Secretary to Government, Science & Technology Department flanked by the senior officers of the Department and divisional administration visited the Katra town in connection with the My town My pride initiatives taken by the Government. Shri Bhagat, Commissioner/ Secretary, S&T Department today chaired the meeting of the councilors and discussed about the purpose of the initiative as it aims to deliver the public services at doorsteps, build developmental initiatives on the feedback, cooperation and participation of the people and strengthen strong and vibrant local self-governance . He emphasized that the people participation is the essential ingredient for economic growth and prosperity of the people. My town My pride has the 7 action plans which need to be taken care of like Green city plan, City resource mobilization/ finance plan, city livelihood plan, city smart vending plan, city tourism and cultural plan, city beautiful plan and plan for encroachment free city. Later, Shri Bhagat visited the stalls displayed by the various departments showcasing the potentials in different areas of the District Reasi and the areas in and around Katra. Shri Bhagat , Commissioner / Secretary, S&T Department made some valuable suggestions to improve the urban sustainability , quality of life and urban welfare. Various Councilors highlighted some of the problems and issues faced by the people and Shri Bhagat gave a patient hearing to all these issues and assured that all the issues will be taken up with the Government to address these in a time bound manner so that the people will have all the services in a hassle free manner and without any difficulties .
Shri Saurabh Bhagat(IAS), Commissioner / Secretary also dedicated the water points for the people and the pilgrims near the bus stand, Katra.
Among others, Dr. P.R.Dhar, CEO, JAKEDA, Smt Sunita Razdan , Shri Sanjay Kharoo, Joint Directors, Shri Angrez Singh, SDM, Katra , EO, Katra Municipal town , Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, Shri Deepak Sharma, Officers of S&T were also present.
