In continuation with the earlier statement, JK WAVE outlines a clear political and civic stance regarding the current socio-political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir in view of 100 signature campaign initiated by Mr. O.P. Shah regarding dialogue process. JK WAVE urged GOI to bridge the trust deficit between the local population and New Delhi through structured dialogue and specific constitutional and administrative safeguards.
The core argument and demands in the statement categorized into three major pillars:
First is Internal Safeguards and parity with Ladakh declaration. JK WAVE reiterates that when UT Ladakh is being considered for a specific administrative, land, and job
Kashmir deserves similar guarantees from Center. Ensuring that local employment and land ownership remain secured for the permanent residents of the UT. Prioritizing the release of individuals held under administrative detention who do not face any serious or violent criminal charges, framing this as a vital step toward goodwill.
Secondly JK WAVE strongly advocates the engagement of local population in dialogue process rather than relying solely on traditional political heavyweights. The statement calls on the Government of India (GOI) to broaden its scope of engagement in case of local population is concerned. JK WAVE urging the Center to involve civil society groups and organizations like JK WAVE who explicitly back a result-oriented dialogue the goal is to create an inclusive peace process that directly addresses the day-to-day anxieties of the Kashmiri people.
Thirdly, de-linking Kashmir on cross-border or neighborly diplomacy like signature campaign initiated by Mr. O.P. Shah. The statement argues that any dialogue with neighboring countries should be handled from New Delhi rather than using Kashmir or Kashmiri People as the central focal point because Kashmir suffered a lot from the last three decades. JK WAVE resolved and advocates for a pragmatic, dual-track approach: robust domestic legal protections for J&K’s residents coupled with state-level diplomacy managed firmly from the capital, keeping the local population insulated from geopolitical friction while building internal stability.
