Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) leaders Zaffar Iqbal Manhas and Mushtaq Ahmad have expressed deep shock and grief over the death of four girls in South and Central Kashmir caused due to flash floods.

The two leaders described the loss of precious lives as extremely unfortunate and shocking. “It is extremely a sad coincidence that the two minor sisters were killed due to flash floods triggered by heavy rains in the mountainous region of Chadoora in the morning and two sisters were washed away by currents in a Shopian village in the evening while they were taking a stroll on a river bank. On behalf of our party, we offer deepest condolences to the bereaved families and express solidarity with them in this hour of grief,” they said.

The JKAP leaders said these two separate incidents in which two pairs of siblings in Chadoora-Budgam and Shopian districts died due to flash floods has caused a pall of gloom in entire Jammu and Kashmir. “Loss of these precious lives have not only created a huge void in their families but have descended a covering of gloom in almost every family in these districts,” they said.

The JKAP leaders prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and courage to their families to bear the irreparable loss. They also urged J&K UT government to provide adequate compensation and all possible help to the grieving families.
