Srinagar, Sep 2, 2025, Kashmir Pen: KAAF Studio today inaugurated a five-day Printmaking Workshop at Koh Daman, Harwan, Srinagar, envisioned as a dedicated platform for immersive learning, experimentation, and dialogue in the field of printmaking.
The workshop offers structured, hands-on training in techniques such as etching, drypoint, linocut, and viscosity printing. Led by a diverse set of master practitioners, the sessions aim to blend technical expertise with critical engagement, enabling participants to explore both traditional and contemporary practices.
KAAF Studio said the initiative goes beyond technical training, seeking to cultivate curiosity, discipline, and critical thinking. By bringing together practitioners, students, faculty, and independent artists, the workshop fosters a collaborative environment that bridges traditional knowledge with contemporary experimentation.
The programme will culminate in a closing exhibition, where participants will showcase their works. The exhibition will serve as both a public invitation to engage with printmaking’s creative potential and a collective reflection of the participants’ artistic journeys.
Emphasizing its broader vision, KAAF Studio reaffirmed its commitment to positioning Srinagar as a hub of artistic excellence and collaboration. By creating opportunities for mentorship and exposure to national-level practitioners, the workshop aspires to nurture a new generation of artists capable of carrying forward the printmaking tradition while expanding its creative boundaries.
“This is more than technical training – it is an investment in creative futures,” the studio said | Kashmir Pen
