Srinagar, Jan 25: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday joined the celebrations of the 16th National Voters’ Day and called upon officers and stakeholders to intensify efforts to spread awareness among citizens about the profound power of their vote.

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor emphasised that the right to vote is not merely a constitutional privilege but a cornerstone of democracy. He urged officials to motivate people, especially youth and first-time voters, to exercise their franchise with thoughtful prudence and a sense of responsibility.

“The strength of democracy lies in informed and active participation of citizens. Every vote carries the power to shape the destiny of the nation,” the Lieutenant Governor said, adding that conscious and ethical use of voting rights can help citizens become true architects of a strong, fair and flourishing India.

The Lieutenant Governor also commended the Election Commission and officials for their efforts in strengthening democratic processes and enhancing voter awareness across Jammu and Kashmir.
