Joint Forces launched a massive cordon and search operation (CASO) in two villages of the Kulgam district in south Kashmir.

An official said that the operation on Friday was launched jointly by forces including RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and CRPF following inputs about the movement of militants in the Kakran Pombay and Katrasoo areas of Kulgam.

He said that the operation was launched following inputs about the presence of militants in these areas.

The search operations in both areas were going on when this report was being filed.
