In his message on the eve of the 77th Republic Day,  the Lieutenant Governor paid tribute to the visionary architects of the Indian Republic, recalling their wisdom, courage and sacrifices that secured the nation’s freedom and gave India a Constitution founded on the ideals of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. He said these values continue to uphold India’s democratic and socialist ethos.

The Lieutenant Governor acknowledged the contribution of workers, farmers, doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, teachers, students, youth, women, artists, writers, industry leaders and civil society volunteers, stating that their dedication and hard work have been instrumental in strengthening democracy and driving holistic development across Jammu and Kashmir.

Paying homage to the armed forces, paramilitary forces and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Manoj Sinha said their courage, vigilance and sacrifices have ensured peace, security and harmony in the Union Territory.

The Lieutenant Governor expressed gratitude to the armed forces, police, paramilitary units and civil administration for their bravery and dedication during Operation Sindoor, describing it as a defining moment in India’s national security doctrine following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. He said the operation sent a clear message that any terrorist attack on Indian soil would be treated as an act of war.

He also commended the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF for their professionalism and courage during Operation Mahadev, in which three Pakistani terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack were eliminated.

Appreciating the Jammu and Kashmir Police for uncovering a nationwide terror network in October–November last year, the Lieutenant Governor said timely action by the force helped prevent several major attacks. He described the police personnel as true heroes of the nation.

Reaffirming the commitment to development and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha called for collective efforts to accelerate economic growth, strengthen existing areas of excellence and build future-ready infrastructure. He emphasised the need to develop new and emerging engines of growth with consistency and resolve.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the role of higher education institutions in preparing the youth for a future driven by innovation, technology and entrepreneurship. He stressed the importance of positioning Jammu and Kashmir as a leader in the knowledge-based economy and information technology sector.

Calling for inclusive development, Manoj Sinha said special focus must be placed on ensuring equitable access to quality education, healthcare and opportunities, particularly for youth and women. He urged citizens to work with sincerity and selflessness towards building a strong, prosperous and developed India.
