Police in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district have arrested Nisar Khan on charges of receiving Rs. 110,000 in exchange for the release of two youths from police custody.
Soon after the incident came to fore, the Bharatiya Janata Party has expelled Nisar who was also the party general secretary and a sarpanch of Anantnag district, from the party’s core membership.
The leader has been identified as Nisar Ahmad Khan. Khan was arrested by the police on charges of bribery and fraud, after which the party expelled Nisar Khan from the party.
Sofi Muhammad Yousuf, UT vice-president of the BJP leadership, in this regard said that the manifesto of the Bharatiya Janata Party is to make Jammu and Kashmir clean and free from bribery and there is no room for error for any leader.
It should be noted that Nisar Khan has been arrested by the police on the charge of receiving Rs. 110,000 in exchange for the release of two youths from police custody.
However, the two youths were released by the police after investigation in a case. Nisar Khan resident of Gopalpura Anantnag was arrested on the complaint of the family members of both the persons.
