Students demand immediate release of their scholarships

Students from different areas of J&K said that tribal department is not releasing the scholarship fund of ST students, which is making it difficult for students to meet their educational expenses.
Showkat Shabir a student activist said that due to unknown reasons tribal affairs department had withheld the scholarship of ST students.
Since last October, the department hasn’t released scholarships of all pre-matric and post-matric scholarships, he said, adding that due to covid-19 scholarships were disbursed among other students very early however, only ST have been kept withheld.
Students requested authorities to look into the matter at an earliest, otherwise we will forced to come on roads as are facing problems in meeting our educational expenses because due to Covid-19 we are in financial crunch.
Director Tribal Affairs J&K, Salim Malik when contacted he said that department had already uploaded the details of scholarship on NSP and government of India shall push back the data and all students will get scholarship through online mode
He added that they will get scholarships as soon as govt of India will push back the details of each candidate which are adhar linked.
