A policeman was killed and six others, including two cops of Jammu and Kashmir police and three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) men, were critically injured after militants attacked District Police Lines (DPL) in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
“We have lost one policeman. The operation is going on,” said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muneer Khan.
Officials said that militants stormed the DPL around 3:45 am on Saturday. An official said that the Fidayeen militants lobbed grenades and opened indiscriminate fire inside the DPL Pulwama.
“Intermittent firing is still going on. Two militants are believed to be inside the DPL. The area has been cordoned off,” he said.
All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Pulwama where from they were referred to Srinagar in critical condition.
