Hundreds of people took to streets against the coronavirus lockdown across America. They chanted slogans and displayed placards and banners that read “Open Ohio Now”, “Unlock Our Economy”, “Preserve Freedom”, “Liberty Once Lost Is Lost Forever”, and many more.
Some protesters believed that the stay-at-home orders are government overreach and a double whammy that is crushing their freedom and economy. They also blamed media for creating a hype of coronavirus pandemic. In places like Oklahoma, Texas and Virginia, small-government groups, supporters of President Donald Trump, anti-vaccine advocates, gun rights backers and supporters of right-wing causes came together and staged protests against the lockdown.
They defied the social distancing rules that is required to preemt the pandemic from spreading. The coronavirus pandemic caused more than 53,000 deaths in America with nearly half of all casualties in New York state. (AFP)
