Apni Party State Coordinator for Displaced Kashmiri Pandits Kashmir Division Sanjay Dhar on Tuesday appealed to the government of Jammu and Kashmir to seriously address the problems faced by various employees who are living outside transit camps and are scheduled to be accommodated under the PM package for employees.
In a statement issued here, Sanjay Dhar said that a large number of package employees, especially women folk and handicapped live on rent basis outside the transit camps.
“They complain that they are unable to pay huge rents and have to face immense problems on this front. It is a moral incumbency on the competent authorities to alleviate their sufferings,” he asserted.
Dhar appealed to Lt. Governor J&K to take this issue seriously and direct orders for constructing requisite quarters in the transit camps at an earliest so that these employees living outside on rent basis can be accommodated appropriately.
“A permanent mechanism needs to be devised in order to ensure a regular monitoring over the construction of these quarters along with other affairs in these camps to avoid illegal grabbing of quarters henceforth,” he said.
