Secy PDD reviews shifting of utilities for 4 laning of NH-44 from Udhampur to Banihal

JAMMU, APRIL 23 2020
Secretary, Power Development Department, M Raju today chaired a meeting with senior officers of Power Transmission Corporation of Power Development Department (PDD) to review the shifting of utilities coming in the way of 4 laning of National Highway (NH) – 44 from Udhampur to Banihal.
Director, Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation, P R Angurala, Director Planning, PDD Rakesh Jamwal, Chief Engineer Power Development Corporation S Gurmeet Singh, Executive Engineer, JKPTCL Udhampur, S K Anand were also present in the meeting.
Various issues and bottlenecks coming in way of smooth shifting of utilities were discussed in the meeting. It was informed that 45 Transmission Towers are required to be erected for the concerned work.
It was apprised that the work has been bifurcated in three sections in which Udhampur to Chenani and Nashri to Ramban sections are likely to be completed by May 2020 and Ramban to Banihal section will be completed by October 2020.
The meeting was informed that due to outbreak of COVID-19, the work activities remained suspended for one month and in view of the recent guidelines issued by the Government of India where under Infrastructure Development Projects are to be taken on priority,these activities have resumed now.
The Secretary urged that all the works should be completed at the earliest.
