SMC continues drive against illegal constructions

Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Monday said it has demolished at least 22 illegal constructions and removed encroachments here during this month.

Commissioner SMC, Gazanfar Ali said despite being pre-occupied with sanitization works, in view of COVID19 pandemic, the SMC was constantly keeping vigil on the illegal constructions and encroachments carried by some miscreants.

He said the anti-encroachment wing of SMC has demolished 22 illegal structures and removed encroachments in the ongoing month.

He said the demolition drives were carried in various areas including Palpora, Lal Bazar, Bemina, Sangam, Saida Pora and Hyderpora.

The Commissioner appealed people to abstain from illegal construction and encroachments and warned of stern action against anyone found involved in such illegal activity.
