New Delhi | July 16: be Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has reaffirmed that Jammu and Kashmir will regain its statehood at an appropriate and suitable time, urging the public to place full trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and commitment to the region.

Speaking to media persons, Dr. Singh stated that there should be no room for doubt or speculation on the matter, as the government remains steadfast in its promise made on the floor of Parliament.

“The Prime Minister has given his word. Statehood will be restored at the right time, in accordance with the vision for peace, development, and long-term stability in Jammu & Kashmir,” he said.

The Minister emphasized that significant progress has already been made post-August 2019, including in infrastructure, grassroots democracy, and governance reforms.

“We must not allow political narratives to create mistrust. The Centre is working in the best interest of the people of J&K, and statehood will come—timed with national interest and regional preparedness,” he added.

Dr. Singh’s remarks come amid increasing calls from political parties and civil society in Jammu and Kashmir for the restoration of statehood following the reorganization of the erstwhile state into a Union Territory | Kashmir Pen
