Renowned political social and youth Activist Syed Aijaz Kashani while remembering kunan poshpora mass Rape said it was national shame to commit rights’ violations in the name of conflict and then deny justice in war crimes against Kashmiris.
Quoting Kunan Poshpora, he said, that deliberate attempts have been made to suppress the popular demands of Kashmiris through black laws, tortures and using violence as a weapon. He castigated the Indian state for refusing to acknowledge its war crimes in Kashmir and urged the august academic and research gathering to break its long and unconscionable silence over rapes and gender violence and stand united in demand to provide justice to the victims in least possible time.
Syed Aijaz questioned the democracy of India, as on what basis does it ban media and demonstrations in Kashmir, when demonstrations and seminars on mass rape and gender violence in Kashmir are being organized throughout the civilized world.
He added that facts and figures have been manipulated in the mass rape of Kunan-Poshpora and termed it as ‘probably the single largest case of mass sexual violence’ in India. He urged the scholars, journalists, academicians and the civil societies to stand-up for every act of violence and crime and come and serve the humanity as torch bearers
