In a special drive against traffic violation by autorickshaw drivers on 27 Feb-2018, Traffic Police City Srinagar booked 68 autorickshaw drivers for plying autorickshaws without a mechanical digital meter ( a digital meter in working condition showing fare & distance or an electric digital meter, which in an opinion of the Transport Commissioner complies with the provision of Rule 151 Motor Vehicle Act).

Traffic Police City Srinagar also seized 11 Autorickshaws who were plying without valid documents.

All Autorickshaw drivers have to install digital meter as per Transport Commissioner & Chairman State Transport Authority J&K, Srinagar Notification issued vide No. TC/JK/MV/2015/4972-95 dated 01.09.2015, otherwise legal action under law against the violators shall continue.
