JAMMU, APRIL 28 2020

Under the patronage, innovative approach and persistent guidance of Chief Justice of J&K High Court Justice Gita Mittal; and Executive Chairman JKSLSA, Justice Rajesh Bindal, the J&K State Legal Services Authority ( SLSA) has been working with a mission to provide relief to the distressed and needy by facilitating their livings through the Helplines for standard labourers, general public, victims of domestic violence and children amid the COVID-19 Pandemic Lockdown.

In the similar vein, the initiative of Jammu and Kashmir State Legal Services Authority (JKSLSA) to set up a helpline to redress the grievances of the Senior Citizens of UTs of J&K and Ladakh, who either manage their living all by themselves or find it unmanageable to step out in the wake of lockdown, has received an immense response. Since the launch of the helpline under Serve-the-Seniors Initiative, on April 21, 110 calls were received out of which 54 calls pertained to medicines, 37 calls for groceries and 9 calls for hospital visits.
