Despite the pandemic, it has been a worthy job hunt for some deserving students after graduating from IITs. As per a report by at least 30 students have bagged job offers of higher than $150,000 (or Rs 1 crore) in campus placements across IIT Bombay, Kanpur and Delhi. Note that the $150,000 (or Rs 1 crore) package includes components like ESOPs, performance bonus and others and is not the take home salary. Here are the companies that have offered Rs 1 crore-plus packages.
Samsung is reportedly said to have made at least 18 job offers with over Rs 1 crore packages across different IITs. Samsung has made seven offers at IIT Bombay, six at IIT Kanpur and five at IIT Delhi, placement cells at the institutes said. Each of these offers is of $150,000 (Rs 1.1 crore) and made to students in computer science and electronic engineering branches.
As per the ET report, Sony Corporation has made job offers at IIT Bombay and IIT Kharagpur. IIT Bombay had earlier said in a release that Sony has made an offer of above Rs 1 crore.
Microsoft is hiring talented students from IITs across Mumbai, Kharagpur, Guwahati and Roorkee and is offering packages up to Rs 1.2 crore.
Oracle is also among the first to hire talent from IITs across India and is reportedly said to be offering lesser packages than Microsoft but still above Rs 1 crore including variables.
Amsterdam-based trading firm Optiver has made seven offers at IIT Bombay of Rs 1.4 crore each. Optiver has hired all the IIT Bombay graduates for its Sydney and Amsterdam offices in research and trading roles.
California-based information technology company Cohesity is hiring for software engineer and research engineer positions at the IITs. As per the report by ET, Cohesity had made one international offer at the institute.
OKR (objective and key results) software provider Ally.io is said to have made several offers with packages over Rs 1 crore. ( Gadgets )
