PDP Chief Spokesperson Rafi Ahmad Mir welcoming the response of Union government on Article 370 in Lok Sabha, said that it is a vindication of stand of PDP that the aspirations of the people must be respected before ideological differences.

Saying that it was due to Agenda of Alliance that first time the union government has come clear on the issue of safeguarding Article 370, Mir who was addressing a party worker’s meeting in Aishmuqam area of Pahalgam said that the PDP led coalition is strictly based on Agenda of Alliance and the Chief Minister has rightly delivered on her promise of fair governance where the difference in political ideological won’t cast its shadows on the issues concerning aspirations of the people.

Mir said that earlier no coalition or common minimum program received such an endorsement from the central government and the insecurities regarding protecting the state’s special status should be laid to rest. People had genuine apprehensions about safeguarding Article 370 owing to total surrender of previous parties but PDP strictly believes that a common document that’s executed for running the coalition should be respected in all terms and at all times.

He said that PDP strongly believes in peace through reconciliation and it will tirelessly continue to pursue its welfare Agenda.
Earlier the Union Government said that there is no proposal to scrap the Article 370, granting special status to the state of Jammu Kashmir.

In a written reply to a question of Ashwani Kumar, the minister for state Home Affairs, Hansraj Ahir said that the Government of India hasn’t committed to the scrapping of Article 370.
