03 drug peddlers arrested in Pulwama; contraband substances recovered

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Pulwama and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A Police party of Police Station Pulwama during patrolling at Tengpuna Pulwama intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK13D-0351 with three persons on board. They have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh, Nazir Ahmad Dar son of Ab Rehman Dar and  Fayaz Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar all residents of Tengpuna Pulwama. During checking, officers were able to recover 53 Kgs of Poppy Straw and 3 grams of Brown Sugar from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No 184/21 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and further investigation has been taken up.  

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
