16 persons held for illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in Awantipora

Continuing its drive against persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Awantipora Police arrested 16 persons & seized 16 vehicles.

In Sub Division Pampore, two Police Parties headed by SHO Police Station Khrew Inspector Manzoor Ahmad and SHO PS Pampore Inspector Zahoor Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Pampore Shri Imtiyaz Ahmad –JKPS have arrested 13 persons and seized thirteen vehicles (11 tippers & 02 Dumpers) involved in illegal extraction of minerals at Bathen,Wuyan, Litterabal and Samboora.

Similarly in Sub Division Awantipora two Police Parties headed by by I/C SHO Awantipora Muneer Alam and IC Police Post Toll Plaza Chersoo SI Farooq Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora Shri Mumtaz Ali Bhatti-JKPS have arrested 03 persons and seized three vehicles (03 tipper) involved in illegal extraction of sand at Hatiwara and Kachkoot.

Accordingly, case FIR NOs. 40,41,42 /2023 of PS Pampore, 22,23/2023 of PS Khrew and 52,53/2023 of PS Awantipora under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been initiated.
