2 die as portion of stone quarry collapses in Baramulla

Baramulla, Aug 09 : Two persons died in a stone quarry accident in Drangbal area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday, officials said here.

that the duo suffered critical injuries after a portion of a stone quarry collapsed, when they were extracting stones.

He said that soon after the incident, the duo identified as Hilal Ahmad and Zaffar Ahmad Gojree—both residents of Baramulla were taken to a nearby hospital where they were declared dead on arrival.

He further said that after conducting medico-legal formalities, bodies will be handed over to their family for last rites.

“A case under relevant sections of laws has been registered and further investigation has been started in this regard.” he added
