Udhampur, Sep 17: Two millitants were neutralised in a joint intelligence-based counter-terrorism operation launched in the Brattal area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, the Army said on Thursday.
The operation was launched during the intervening night of September 16 and 17 after security forces received confirmed inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area, the Army said.
Despite hostile weather, difficult terrain and poor visibility, troops of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a targeted operation, resulting in the neutralisation of two millitants, it said.
The Army said the operation was still in progress, with search and surveillance operations continuing in the area.
“Security forces remain deployed to track and neutralise any remaining threat,” it said.
