Amid waves of Covid-19 in the year 2021, On the one hand Reasi Police worked throughout day and night to enforce Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB), mobilized all its resources & applied all its vehicles as ambulances for covid vaccination in the district.
More than 56 thousand CAB violators were fined collected a fine of Rs 42 lakh. Awareness campaign against the pandemic was also conducted throughout the district that played a vital role managing the Covid Pandemic.
On the other hand Reasi Police geared up its teams on various fronts and achieved remarkable landmarks in the year 2021.
During the year 915 cases were registered in the district Reasi and completed investigations in 1074 cases, chargesheets produced in the respective courts of law. Out of which investigations in 265 long pending cases was concluded on merits.
07 Murder cases and 14 Attempt to murder, Whereas 76 cases under NDPS Act, 17 cases of rape & 29 cases of kidnapping were concluded on merit in the year 2021.
While sharing the details SSP Reasi Conveyed that this is highest ever disposal in number as well as percentage achieved by Reasi Police since the formation of the district. This was possible due to coordinated efforts of Reasi Police in which special teams were constituted to clear all the hiccups and collected pending 210 FSL Reports, 73 medical reports and 40 revenue reports which were prerequisite to conclude the investigations.
Mr Shailender further asseserted that many cases were long pending due to stay imposed by Hon’ble High Court for which regular follow-up was conducted for successful in vacating stay in 25 long pending cases, 71 petition got dismissed whereas bail applications in 23 cases got rejected. The disposal of courts during the year has been more than sum of disposal of preceding four years that could be possible by conducting two to three review meetings in a week.
Similar efforts have been put in Inquest proceedings out of which 06 have resulted into lodging of FIR’s of murder.
In the year,Reasi police launched Special drive against drug abuse under the banner “Ek YUDH NASHE KE VIRUDH” & registered 203 case FIR’s and booked 247 criminals involved in dirty business of drug abuse.
F’RARI Ki GIRAFTARI that created waves of terror amongst underground offenders, a drive launched, nabbed 123 absconding criminals & evading arrests since years. 181 General Warrants of Arrests have been executed in a span of 9 months which is a record of sort, not only in the district or J&K but perhaps highest in the country.
138 bovines smugglers booked by the teams of Reasi Police while rescuing 604 cattle from their possession & registered 85 case FIR’s in this regards and seized 24 Vehicles involved in the crime thus played a vital role in maintaining communal harmony in the area.
Reasi Police traced 81 missing persons and reunited them with their families in the year 2021.
Tightening noose against the criminals Reasi Police recommended 09 gun licences issued to the history Sheeters for cancellation out of which 07 gun licence issued to the History Sheeters have been cancelled. Four licenses are in the process of cancellation. 32 new History Sheets & 17 personal files against the criminals have been opened by Reasi Police in the year 2021.
2816 Miscreants were bound downed before Executive Magistrate under preventive sections to prevent them against committing cognizable offenses in the year whereas 1822 persons were booked for traffic violations in the year by district police Reasi.
While curbing the menace of illegal mining Reasi Police booked 122 vehicles for illegal mining and remained successful in imposition of fine Rs 19.12 Lakh to the violators.
While keeping an eye on the activities to revive militancy in the district, Reasi Police registered 04 case FIR’s and booked 03 persons under UAPA.
Besides the 04 OGW’S and 10 absconders arrested for radicalization and attempts to revive militancy in the region. Further verification of suspicious characters carried out a afresh.
Reasi Police achieved the feat of 100% digitalization on CCTNS in the year 2021.
While bridging gap between Police and Public 98 Police community Partnership Group meeting were conducted throughout district Reasi in year 2021 in which Public grievances were heard and redressed.
In capacity building 05 courses of 01 week each were organized in district Police lines Reasi for basic computer training, 02 weeks course for investigating officers was organized in DPL in which investigating officers from the district participated. Besides these one month course on mob control organized in which 50 jawans were trained and presented a demonstration which was appreciated ADGP Jammu Zone and DIG U-R Range. Trainees have been rewarded by ADGP Jammu for their excellent performance.
With an aim to provide platform to the youth of the district Reasi Police Organised 12 Sports tournaments under Civic Action Programme throughout the district for Badminton, Volleyball, Marathon in which hundreds of local youth participated.
Besides this debate competitions and programs to encourage budding artists of Reasi were also organized throughout the district in the year 2021.
As a welfare measure besides sanctioning welfare loans and scholarships for Meritorious students, Reasi Police organized Basic Life Support Course for the jawans under the banner Morchit Ko Jeewandaan in which hundreds of jawans of Reasi Police Participated and learned various basic life support techniques. Besides this 02 medical camps were organized in which free body profile test were conducted for the jawans, around 1400 jawans of Reasi Police attended the camps and get the benefits.
Mr Shailender while congratulating his team conveyed that Reasi Police achieved a remarkable success on all fronts, and it was possible only by a team effort in which each and every jawan of Reasi Police starting from SPO to Inspectors, Dyssp and ASP’s contributed.
Mr Singh conveyed that to boost the moral of the force officers and jawans were rewarded from time to time, 51 appreciation letters were awarded to the Gazetted Officers whereas 1277 NGO’s and others were suitably rewarded by District Police Office Reasi and by rewarding the deserving officers and officials we were able to achieve this feat. Reasi Police received Five DGP Commendation Medals and Certificates for the year 2021.
SSP further conveyed that Reasi Police handled various law and order situations with cooperation of public and thus remained successful in maintaining peace and communal harmony in the area.
SSP said that in the year 2022 Reasi Police will continue to carry out Peace and tranquility in the area and will work with more zeal. No stone will be left unturned to book the criminals especially drug peddlers who are trying to spoil the youth of Reasi.
